San Francisco Marathon

San Francisco Marathon in about 4:07 h for a 26.48 mi at my watch (4:08:23 official). At the SFM the mileage is always little longer by the GSP. The weather was very good, cold for the all run with 56F, 84% H. I woke up at 3AM to get there for the wave 3 that started a 5:43AM; we had a good run to the Fisherman Wharf, Marina, and Golden Gate Bridge. I felt OK and I was actually ahead of the 3:40 pace. They caught me at the end of bridge on the way back at mile 10. Still good pace but the hills did tire me quite a bit. I arrived at the half in 1:53 h and similarly to the other SFM I started to slow down. Apart from mile 6 where there is the GGB Bridge uphill, I still was at ~8:20 pace until mile 12, then we stated to get into the Golden Gate Park and I dropped the pace to ~9:20. I started to feel tired. At mile 23 the disaster. A big cramp on the right leg completely stopped me, I had to walk maybe .2 mile, then again at 24, 25 and 26. Luckily I was able to restart after the walk but the time got impacted a bit. Still I enjoyed the time and had a good feeling of accomplishment.
